Description

IC 2177 is a reflection nebula in a region of nebulosity that lies along the border between the constellations Monoceros and Canis Major.
It is a roughly circular H II region centered on the Be star HD 53367.

Again, back to some old data with the new PixInsight tools and hopefully improved techniques. BlurXTerminator correction only is first applied to the channels. Then Manually calculated PSF  values are used for a .2 Star Reduction with Non-Stellar Reduction turned off completely . Non Stellar Reduction is now only used at the end on the Starless Non-Linear before LHEQ and NoiseXTerminator.  The GraXPert gradient tool didn't like the blue one bit so much jiggling of the grid points until it did what I had hoped for.  A lot like DBE where less can be more but I think GraXPert is the bee's knees for now. I know there is a new DBE being worked on but, out-of-the box, GraXPert does an amazing job and is much quicker and easier to use then DBE.

The region around the Seagull deserves a wider field for sure as it is rich in other objects like star cluster, planetaries, HII regions and other reflection nebulae so I will add this to my list when I take my portable wide-field rig out west under darker skies.
